Kooloobong Ovals, the home of UOW Football, is set to get a $3.26 million upgrade! Yes Kooloobong is to be transformed into one of the best fields in Wollongong with 2 new synthetic pitches, lighting, grandstand and parking.  The last upgrade was completed in May 1993, and opened by UOW Football Legend Peter Bannister on 8th May 1993.

The use of the oval in the last 10 years has dramatically increased, to the point where at the end of the season, the whole field was just a ‘dust bowl’. Last year the groundsman found it difficult to mark the lines as in some areas there was no grass to apply the paint to. Uniactive had to close the ground, top dress it, and pray for rain in hope that it would be ready for the 2018 season.

The field and amenities are well overdue for an upgrade, and the upgrade will help promote UOW Football Club as one of the best clubs to play for in the Illawarra.
